You might know Pete Helliar as that 'bloke from Rove', or the guy who does the hilarious AFL footy wannabe Straughnie. Pete has come to us all the way from his Mum and Dad's house in Bundoora via stand-up gigs and the television, like the 'Rove' show and 'Before The Game'. His worst heckle as a stand-up happened in Cranbourne, in fact it was a little heavier than a heckle, it was a saucepan to the side of the head. Pete has often said that when Australian's want a comedian who looks like actor Phillip Seymour-Hoffman, they always turn to him.
When not doing ads for Leggo's pasta sauce and Fernwood in 2008, Pete will be doing breakfast with Myf Warhurst.
You might know Myf as the 'chick from 'Spicks and Specks', you might also know her from primary school in Red Cliffs in country Victoria. Lucky you! Myf's family are such a proud Victorian bunch that they once lived in a converted Melbourne tram. Myf forged her way into the biz as a music/entertainment reporter for The Age and street magazine Inpress. From there she went onto the ABC, where she did some stuff on the radio and the TV, including Fly TV, My Favourite Album and now the infamous 'Spicks'n'Specks'.
You will usually find her relaxing at the Anglsea caravan park brushing up on the musical version of Trivial Pursuit.

Broadcast radio abandoned free form radio years ago. Beardo returns you to the pioneer days of the early FM stations that had neither playlist nor corporate agenda. The only motive was to turn their faithful audience on to great music. That is the sole purpose of The Marconi Experiment. Subscribe now to get an earful of the music that started his obsession and the artists that continued it. Always interesting, genre spanning tunes that you've probably forgotten or never heard in the first place. Most are out-of-print or LIVE performances culled from Beardo's dungeon of LPs and reel-to-reel tapes. Podsafe, but needing to be aired out!!
