BMW Open is an ATP tennis tournament, which takes place every year in Munich. Among the previous winners are well known tennis stars such as Michael Stich, Thomas Enqvist and Roger Federer. The BMW Sailing Cup World Final 2008 took place at the Dubai International Marine Club. Nine countries were competing in the high-class amateur racing regatta. The team from Spain has come through to win in Dubai, beating Team Italy 2-0 in the best-of-three final. Three-time America’s Cup winner Russell Coutts handed over the cup to the Spaniards. Ralf Hussmann, General Manager BMW Sports Marketing was very pleased with the good sailing conditions in Dubai with a sea breeze of around 12 knots. All sailing teams experienced unforgettable four racing days in an exotic destination in the Middle East.
