In Episode 2 we've mastered (maybe) the two mic setup for this podcast, and chatted about baby names, Worcester accents, the Miracle Blanket and more.

Well, we've blogged, we've done online video, and now here's the first Burden family podcast. The audio's good in spots, not so great in others - I was only playing around with the software and not really intending on doing a whole-family bit, so I only had one mic hooked up and had to compress the heck out of the audio to get the high bits low enough to bring the low bits up high enough. I'm using Audacity, which is free open-source multi-track recording software - not as much juice as my Fostex digital eight-track or N-Track studio, but much simpler to use and perfect for this kind of application. A note: you have to download lame_enc.dll separately to export the MP3 format with Audacity, here's where to find a copy.
I didn't know the name when I started messing around with this, but since Kris and I have settled on House of Burdens. In this premier episode: Audacity software, Rescue Heroes, VBAC, pregnancy update, David and Sofia on scatological humor, David's Australian accent and more.
